The short version. You can play Priced In? without an account. We keep your game results so the leaderboards, streaks and stats work. If you sign in, we also keep your email address (or your Google or Apple account ID) so you can play on any device. We don't show ads, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't use tracking cookies. The only analytics are cookie-free page-visit counts from our host, Cloudflare. You can delete everything from the You tab at any time.
What's kept in your browser
- A random player ID, made the first time you play. It isn't linked to your name or device.
- Your game progress, scores, streak and stats, so a half-played daily can resume.
These are stored in your browser's local storage, not cookies. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
What's kept on our server
- Your results: for each card you play (in the Daily 5, practice or the archive), which case it was, how close your call was, whether you got the direction and the 30-day call right, and the day. Also your call itself, your company pick, and when you locked in each card, so the server can score it. For each Daily 5, your score. Your streak, its banked streak freezes and prizes, and your weekly league.
- A nickname, if you choose one. It's shown publicly on the leaderboards, with your scores and streak.
- Groups you make or join: the group's name and who's in it. Other members see your nickname (or "Player #" and a number if you haven't picked one), your scores and your streak.
- If you sign in: your email address, if you use an email code; or your Google or Apple account ID, plus the email address they share with us if it's verified. Also whether you have Pro.
- If you subscribe to Pro: your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, your plan (monthly or yearly), its status, and when it renews or ends. We never see or store your card number.
- Daily reminder emails (signed in with an email address; on by default at 5:30 pm, and you can change the time or turn them off on the You tab or with the link in any reminder): the time you picked, your time zone offset (so the email arrives at your local time), the last day we reminded you, and a random code for the one-click unsubscribe link in each email.
- The launch waitlist, if you joined it: your email address and when you joined, used for one email when the game goes live. "Delete my data" removes it along with your account.
- Sign-in codes are stored only as a scrambled (hashed) value and expire after 10 minutes.
- Your IP address is kept only when you ask for or enter an email code, or join the waitlist, to stop anyone using the site to flood other people's inboxes or guess their codes. These records are deleted within two days.
Why we keep it
Only to run the game: scoring, streaks, leaderboards and leagues, groups, practice limits, your stats, the daily reminder unless you turned it off, signing you in, and keeping the sign-in system from being abused. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it with anyone for their own use.
Services we rely on
- Cloudflare hosts the site and its database. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and basic request details when you visit. Its Web Analytics counts page visits and measures how fast pages load: the page, the site that linked you here, your country, browser and device type, and load times. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you across other sites.
- Resend sends sign-in codes and, unless you turn them off, daily reminders by email, so it receives your email address when we send you one.
- Google Fonts: the game's fonts load from Google, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches them.
- Google or Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to that step.
- Stripe handles Pro payments, only if you subscribe. Pro is sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which receives your email address and your payment details directly, sends your receipts, and keeps its own records of your payments. Stripe's and Link's privacy policies apply to those (see our terms).
Deleting your data
On the game's You tab, choose Delete my data. It immediately removes your results, answers, nickname, group memberships and account from our server, and clears this browser's copy. If you have Pro, it also cancels your subscription right away and deletes your customer record at Stripe (Stripe keeps its records of past payments, as the law requires). If you run a group, it passes to its longest-standing member (or is deleted if you were the only one). You can also email privacy@pricedingame.com and we'll delete it for you.
Otherwise we keep your data for as long as you play. We may remove accounts that haven't been used for a long time.
Children
Priced In? isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
